Captains Newsletter 2021/2022
Dear members, Waterton GC staff, and all members of the Waterton Park team, a very Happy New Year to you all. We have reached my final newsletter of 2021 and its time to hand the baton on to our incoming Captain, John Tordoff, John is full of enthusiasm to get started and although officially he takes over on March the 1st, the gentleman’s agreement is to give him the space to arrange his year and get to know his team. I wish John all the best in his tenure. Enjoy and do not hesitate to ask for advice at any time if needed.
In December we had a Captains Christmas Party and we were entertained by two excellent Latin dancers, Chris and Ruma who danced between the tables. We were also lucky to secure award winning singer Oliver Harris who brought the house down and received numerous encore requests. The feed back from all those who attended “outstanding, brilliant, excellent” made another event for me, it was a fabulous way to end the year.
Check out some of the images below.
The Captains Christmas Raffle was supported by the majority of our members and raised a whopping figure of over £600 the ticket numbers were posted on the BRS e-mail system so please check your tickets for a winning number or head down to the club house, last time I looked a number of prizes were still to be claimed. The draw was carried out in the clubhouse with different members pulling out tickets to make the draw fair and in front of witnesses.
December Hole in one….. A huge congratulations go to Kevin Fletcher for his achievement on the 15th hole and to Ryan Gaunt for his hole in 1 on the shortened 9th. Well done both, we all had a little drink with you, thank you.
I have a lot of people to thank for their assistance over the last year and a huge amount of gratitude to give to our members for their support, I will save this for my presentation and announcement of the yearly accounts which should be sometime in the next couple of weeks.
I will sign off by saying it has been an absolute privilege to be Captain and be part of the history of the club.
